On Dec. 21 Washington Capitals players Karl Alzner and fiancéelizabeth Mandy Flemmer, Jeff Halpern, Roman Hamrlik and girlfriend Cynthia Lavoie, Michal Neuvirth as well as girlfriend Monika Hybnerova and Dennis Wideman and fiancée Lindsay MacDonald, Washington Mystics player Monique Currie in addition to Washington Wizards players Andray Blatche, JaVale McGee, February Vesely, Kevin Seraphin, Chris Singleton and Ronny Turiaf hosted any occasion party for the recipients of Monumental Sports & Entertainment’s (MSE) Family-to-Family method.
More than 100 underserved children along with families that were “adopted” by the teams through MSE’s Family-to-Family program to the holidays attended the event which had been held on the Wizards practice court at Verizon Middle.
The families in need ended up nominated by local educational facilities and nonprofit organizations and also adopted by the teams’ charities,

The kids and families in attendance appreciated an evening of refreshments, video games and dancing with the Limits, Mystics and Wizards players, workforce mascots Slapshot and G-Wiz, Red Rockers and Wizard Girls who were all on hand to help propagate holiday cheer to the worthwhile families. The children had a chance to play hockey and basketball game with the pros, have their encounters painted and take photos with Santa. At the end of the night, each family left with totes overflowing with holiday gifts from the Caps, Wizards and Mystics. Each child received clothing, informative items and toys, even though parents and guardians acquired clothing, household items and grocery gift cards for their families.
The Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation props up the charitable efforts of the specialist teams under its outdoor patio umbrella: The Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards. MSE is committed to the Wa, D.C., metropolitan place and focuses on the following five pillars to maximize its effect on the community: education and scholarship, hunger and homelessness, military and veterans’ affairs, pediatric health and fitness as well as youth basketball and tennis.
